Cast Stainless Steel CF8

Cast Stainless Steel  CF8

Type CF3 is a Fe-Cr-Ni alloy having good strength and ductility, and excellent resistance to a wide variety of

Corrosive medias. The alloy is especially useful in resisting attack by strongly oxidizing media such as boiling nitric acid. Castings of type CF8 alloy also have excellent sub-zero properties.

Chemical Composition

ASTM A743  A351 A744, AISI 304, DIN 1.4308 GX 5CrNi19-10

Equivalent Grades

Melting Point(oC)

For maximum corrosion resistance, castings of CF8  should be heated in the range 1050 to 1121°C, and then quenched in water to ensure complete solution of carbides and sigma phase.
